Out for comment: National Norms and Standards for the Treatment of Organic Waste

On 29 March 2021 the Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment published draft National Norms and Standards for the Treatment of Organic Waste  under the National Environmental Management Waste Act 59 of 2008.

These Norms and Standards aim to control the processing of organic waste material at any facility that falls within certain prescribed thresholds in order to avoid, prevent or minimise potential negative impacts on the biophysical environment.

Interested parties are invited to comment on these draft Norms and Standards within 30 days (i.e. before 30 April 2021).
