Opportunity to comment: Proposed amendments under the Electricity Regulation Act (changes to licensing exemption and registration requirements)

On 23 April 2021 the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy published his intention to amend Schedule 2 of the Electricity Regulation Act 4 of 2006, and to increase the threshold for embedded generation from 1 MW to 10 MW.

In the Notice, the Minister also expressed his intention to amend provisions relating to the requirement for resellers to register with NERSA.

Interested persons and organisations are invited to submit written comments within 30 days on the proposed amendments.
