Ruchir was born and raised in the city of Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal. His academic achievements include graduating with a LLB in 2012, completing the PLT School for Legal Practice in 2013 and immediately thereafter enrolling in the Environmental Law LLM Programme at Howard College Campus. He graduated in 2015 after completion of his dissertation on land-based marine pollution, specifically the collection of plastic marine debris within our ocean. Prior to joining the Centre, Ruchir’s relevant professional work experience included legal internships at the International Criminal Court, in The Hague, Norton Rose Fulbright and at an established law practice in Durban. He considers himself fortunate to be working in an environment in which he can contribute towards the attainment of environmental and social justice.
