Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement

CER attorneys have developed a tool to assist with articulating, reporting and keeping a record of environmental violation reports to the correct authorities – the Environmental Violations Logbook. The project uses this tool to guide and encourage our community and civil society partners to report environmental violations and keep records. These records can, at a later stage, used in a campaign to justify an increased investment in enforcement capacity in Department of Mineral Resources, Department of Water and Sanitation and Department of Environmental Affairs. We will be rolling out this tool together with our training programmes.
