Request to the Department of Water and Sanitation for access to the Climate Change Vulnerability Risk Assessment conducted in various catchment areas in South Africa (2 November 2018)

At the briefing held before the Portfolio Committee on Water and Sanitation on 11 October 2018, the DWS stated that the “Climate Change Risk and Vulnerability Assessment”… had been conducted in the Vaal, Orange, Mzimvubu-Tsitsikamma, Olifants and Limpopo water management areas. [and there are] … findings for the Lesotho Highlands.

We following records were requested:

  • The internal report and/or findings of the DWS’ Climate Change Risk and Vulnerability Assessment conducted in the Vaal, Olifants, and Limpopo; and
  • Any risk and vulnerability report in respect of water transfer projects such as Lesotho Highlands and Mokolo and Crocodile River (West): Water Augmentation Project (MCWAP).
