We’re hiring lawyers: New vacancies at the CER

Tired of working to make the rich even richer? The Centre for Environmental Rights has just advertised two new vacancies for lawyers who would like to spend their energy promoting the realisation of environmental rights for all South Africans.
- We are looking for a third attorney to join our Pollution & Climate Change programme. This position is for an attorney with a passion for environmental rights and justice, particularly in relation to industrial pollution, waste, climate change and environmental justice, with a special focus on the environmental impacts of coal-based energy generation. Closing date: 31 October 2014.
- We are starting a new project aimed at securing the long-term ecological integrity of South Africa’s offshore marine habitats, and we are looking for a legal campaigner to lead this new project. This position is for a lawyer with a passion for conservation, the sea, and for environmental rights and justice, with a particular interest in marine law, marine spatial planning, marine protected areas and responsible off-shore mining. Closing date: 4 November 2014.
