10 October 2015 at 2:29 pm

A job that can change the worldThe Centre for Environmental Rights has started recruiting for two new positions:

  • a Water Lawyer and Campaigner (CER2/2015): CER is starting a new project aimed at securing the long-term legal protection and integrity of South Africa’s strategic water source areas, and we are looking for a legal campaigner to lead this new two-year project. This position is for a lawyer with a passion for the protection of South Africa’s precious water resources, for environmental rights and justice, and who has a particular interest in water law, biodiversity and conservation law, and mining law.
  • a Wildlife Attorney (CER 1/2015): CER is now recruiting for an attorney to lead its Wildlife Desk, a one-year pilot project with the Endangered Wildlife Trust, funded by the National Lotteries Commission, aimed at promoting protection of indigenous species by using the law. The ideal candidate is an admitted attorney with a passion for biodiversity and conservation, social and environmental justice, accountability and compliance.

Both positions are based in Cape Town, and applications close on 7 November 2015.
