Amanda joined the Centre as a Water Lawyer and Campaigner in May 2016. Born and bred in Empangeni, a small coastal town in KwaZulu-Natal, she obtained her LLB at the University of the Free State and her LLM in Environmental Law at the University of the Witwatersrand. She articled at Norton Rose Fulbright in both Johannesburg and Durban offices, then returned to the University of the Free State where she lectured for two years. Since joining the Centre, she has become a member of the South African Water Caucus and looks forward to working with passionate, environmentally conscious people. Her spare time is shared with loved ones and, having recently moved down to the Cape, her experimental side will have her doing all things “Capetonian”.
